Congratulations to the Cooksville Minor Midget Red (CO101) team that completed it’s game Friday January 2nd, 2009 against the NES IK Minor Midget Select 1993 Norwegian Team. It was a great game to watch with play going back and forth in a very entertaining game.

Although the game ended in a 2-2 tie, the Cooksville team outplayed their Norweigan opponents and could have had 2-3 more goals in a second period that saw Cooksville only allow a couple of shots on our goal. Certainly the contact game did not intimidate our guys, and this was a very cleanly played game that saw no penalties.
The game ended in 2-2 and since time was still available, a decision was made to have a ‘shootout’ with 5 players from each side participating. Unfortuantely, the Norwegian’s won the shootout 2-1.
Congratulations to Dan Trinetti, his coaching staff and the players from the Minor Midget Red team that conducted themselves with a whole lot of class and played an outstanding game.
